AUTOMATE 2019 - HIGHLIGHTS
The dust has settled after Automate 2019 and we’ve had some time to reflect on all we learned and saw in Chicago. With 20,000 visitors in two halls, Automate is of a more manageable size than Hannover Messe and doing them both back to back was an intense couple of weeks and a whole lot of hard work for our OnRobot team. But, we did it! And to be honest, we loved every minute – it’s always great to meet our partners and customers and have the opportunity to discuss real world collaborative applications! One partner even came to the stand in Chicago with a handful of mylar balloons and did a little test with the award-winning Gecko Gripper right at the stand.
At Automate, we again showcased our end-of-arm tools on a wide variety of robot brands – Doosan, Fanuc, Kawasaki, KUKA, Mitsubishi, Techman, Universal Robots and Yaskawa. Our new I/O Converter kits enable collaboration with all these robots and more, meaning that you can automate more, faster, no matter what robots you’re using.
Automate was also a great opportunity to speak to a wide variety of reporters and editors from the industry press. Our CEO Enrico Krog Iversen did two full days of back-to-back interviews! And GM Americas Kristian Hulgard was busy with interviews as well. He spoke to Jim Anderton from Engineering.com and Matt Danford from Modern Machine Shop, among others. We’re grateful to all the reporters and editors who stopped by to speak with us and we look forward to seeing the articles in the coming months!
We spotted our end-of-arm tools on a number of other stands and were able to capture this RG2 gripper application done by The Knotts Company at the Baumer booth. With a little vision help, it’s like our gripper can spell!
We also spotted our products at SKF Motion Technologies, Essential Robot Products, Universal Robots, Techman/Automator America and Ready Robotics.
It’s great to see our products around the show and we are working hard to be sure there are even more of them in 2021! So, if you’re interested in showing applications with our products, let’s talk!
On Wednesday evening, we hosted a very popular cocktail party at our booth after the show closed. It was pretty impressive how many people could fit in 93m2 (1,000ft2). We celebrated the show and caught up with friends, industry players and business partners from near and far.
Closing out the show, GM Americas Kristian Hulgard gave a talk at the conference entitled “Intelligent End-of-Arm Tooling and Accessories for Collaborative Applications.” Attendees gained insight on cutting-edge intelligent tools and their ability to enable faster and smarter adoption of automation. If you missed it, we’re sure that Kristian would be happy to discuss the topic anytime you like, just get in touch.
Automate 2019 came and went, but we wanted to thank you all for an exciting and busy show. We look forward to seeing you at Automate 2021 at the new venue in Detroit. If you’d like to learn more about OnRobot, or are interested in being a partner, contact us at sales@onrobot.com
